Iranian Progress Unstoppable

Iran Daily

President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said on Saturday that sanctions will make the Islamic Republic more determined than ever to pursue its civilian nuclear program.
"You (world powers) can slash your throats, jump up and down, issue statements and declarations and pass resolutions... but don't think you can stop the progress and development of the Iranian people," he said in a speech broadcast live on state television.
"The more overt your animosity towards us, the more determined the Iranian nation will be in moving forward," he said after inaugurating the Middle East's biggest iron ore pellet factory in the southern city of Sirjan, Presstv reported.
Ahmadinejad’s comments came after US President Barack Obama vowed on Friday the United States will ratchet up pressure on Iran in a unified global stand.
Ahmadinejad reiterated that Iran had started refining its own nuclear fuel for a research reactor after the big powers refused to sell the fuel to Iran.
"Based on the law which you wrote in the NPT (Non-Proliferation Treaty) charter, you were supposed to give the fuel for the Tehran reactor, but you did not," he noted.
Under international law, Ahmadinejad said, western countries are obliged to provide Iran--without any preconditions--with specific amounts of fuel it requires for the research reactor, which plays a vital role in producing medical isotopes.
Due to their refusal, Ahmadinejad continued, Iran reserves the right to domestically enrich uranium up to 20 percent to meet the demands of thousands of Iranian patients in dire need of post-surgery treatment with nuclear medicine.
He dismissed US accusations regarding an “Iranian intention to enrich uranium to weapons-grade levels,” and said such claims are ironic coming as it is from countries which possess and continue to develop dangerous nuclear arsenals that have been tested and used in military conflicts in the past.

Israel Warned
Ahmadinejad warned against any Israeli plan to launch a second military offensive against Palestinians in Gaza.
He warned Israel against such move against the Gazans who are still reeling from the devastating attack by the occupying power two years ago.
Ahmadinejad condemned Israel's continued crimes in Palestine and Lebanon and noted that the Tel Aviv regime is the main obstacle to peace and security in the region.
Referring to Israel’s use of foreign passports to assassinate the senior Hamas military commander Mahmoud Al-Mabhouh in Dubai, Ahmadinejad said Israel has “clearly been given carte blanche by western powers “to commit whatever crime it can and violate whatever law it deems necessary.”
