According to a ComRes/ITV News poll out at a similar time to the Commons vote on 21 March 2011, only 35% of British people 'agree it is right for the UK to take military action against Colonel Gaddafi’s forces in Libya'.

Two thirds either 'disagree' (43%) or 'don’t know' (22%).

Nearly half (49%) 'agree that military action in Libya is an unnecessary risk for Britain to take', while 31% 'disagree'.

The 557 to 13 pro-war House Of Commons vote can surely only represent as a 'top-down mockery' of contemporary British public opinion on this issue - rather than any sort of adequate 'representation' of it.]
